US stocks moved higher in early trade on Monday, extending gains made at the end of last week.
"It is a little stronger" said Doug Myers, vice president at Interstate/Johnson Lane.
"There is no negative economic news out there. It's one of those things - no bad news, buy a little stock."
At 0940 EST/1440 GMT the Dow Jones industrial average was up 23 points at 9039.
