Walkout may hit mail deliveries
Main post office in Cowley
About 300 staff were involved in the dispute
Mail services in Oxfordshire may face disruption after a protest by Royal Mail workers.

About 300 staff were involved in the dispute over work being carried out by an outside firm at Oxford's main sorting office.

On Monday night staff returned to the Cowley site after an agreement was reached with managers.

Royal Mail said it was trying to process the backlog of post, but warned some people may experience a delay with deliveries.

Eighteen members of staff walked out over outsourcing of work to a private firm.

The rest of the staff then refused to cross the picket line.

The dispute was resolved following negotiations between representatives from the Communication Workers Union and the management.
