HK protests on national day
Pro-democracy activists have staged a noisy protest on the streets of Hong Kong as government officials and guests gathered to celebrate China's national day.
Following a minor scuffle with police, a small group of the demonstrators set fire to the Chinese flag - an act which is illegal in Hong Kong. They called for an end to communist party rule on China's mainland, and renewed demands for an explanation for the suppression of pro-democracy rallies in Tiananmen Square in Beijing in 1989.
