Loyalists blamed for gun attack
Three shots were fired at the house
Three shots were fired at the house
Loyalist paramilitaries have been blamed for a gun attack on the home of a family of seven in County Armagh.

The Protestant family, including a 17-month-old baby, were in the house in Portadown.

The house at Westland Road, in the Corcrain area of the town, was attacked just before 0100 BST on Tuesday.

Three shots were fired at the home, one of which smashed a downstairs window.

Terrence Herron, his wife, and five children, aged from 17 months to 14 years, were not injured in the attack but were badly shaken.

Terrence Herron:
Terrence Herron: "Why are they doing harm to my kids?"
They said they were targeted because of a disagreement with local loyalist paramilitaries.

But Mr Herron said his family would not be moving from their home.

"My wife is not used to that, my kids are not used to that. We're not doing any harm to their kids, why are they doing harm to my kids?

"Why are they doing it? We don't know."

It is the second time the family have been attacked in just under a month.

On the previous occasion, a petrol bomb was thrown at the house.

Police are due to revisit the scene later on Tuesday and are continuing with their inquiries.
