Man admits university dance killing
Court graphic
A Norwich man has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of a man at a dance at the University of East Anglia in March.

At a hearing in June, Andrew McPhee, 20, denied murdering Richard Walls, but on Monday he admitted manslaughter.

Mr Walls, of St Faith's Road, Norwich, died in hospital from head injuries.

McPhee, of Northfields, was granted unconditional bail at Norwich Crown Court until sentencing on 28 October.

Andrew Munday, QC, prosecuting, agreed the manslaughter charge was "a proper plea in all the circumstances".

Mr Walls, 29, worked as a supervisor at Banham Poultry.

He died in the Nortfolk and Norwich Hospital the day after the attack on 10 March.
