Peruvian president's meeting with Clinton postponed

Peru says a scheduled meeting this month between President Alberto Fujimori and President Clinton has been put back to January or February.

A spokesman for the Peruvian foreign ministry said problems had arisen with President Clinton's timetable.

President Fujimori and President Jamil Mahuad of Ecuador are due to meet Mr Clinton and the heads of the World Bank and the Interamerican Development Bank in Washington.
