Iran proposes oil deal
Iran is reported to have proposed co-operation with Saudi Arabia to stop the plummeting world prices for oil.
The Saudi press agency said President Khatami sent a letter to the Saudi government giving details of the proposal.
It also said President Khatami rejected assertions in a conservative Iranian newspaper Jomhuri Islami that Saudi Arabia was to blame for the oil price crisis.
