Nepal opposition seeks polls delay
Opposition parties in Nepal have urged the Prime Minister, Sher Bahadur Deuba, to delay parliamentary elections due in November because of the security situation.

After a meeting with party leaders to discuss the situation, a senior Nepalese Minister, Chiranjibi Wagle, said the government was considering the issue.

Mr Wagle said that a final decision would be taken shortly.

Maoist rebels campaigning for radical political change in Nepal have threatened to kill candidates and voters. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service
