Care home teenager dies
Nottingham City Council
The teenager was in care at a council-run home
Two investigations are underway after the body of a teenager in the care of Nottingham social services was found at the home where she lived.

Social services officials have described the death of the 15-year-old girl as tragic but have not revealed the circumstances in which she was found.

Officials discovered the body on Thursday night at the council-run home.

She was taken to the Queens Medical Centre, but died later.

In a statement from Nottingham social services, staff and other young people at the childrens home were said to be extremely distressed.

An investigation has started by officials in the social services department.

A separate police inquiry is also underway.
