Saturday, December 5, 1998 Published at 13:25 GMT World: Asia-Pacific Uzbek-gas supplies to Tajikistan suspended Uzbekistan is reported to have suspended gas deliveries to neighbouring Tajikistan. The Russian Itar-Tass news agency reported the Tajik authorities as saying they'd been informed that the suspension was temporary and due to the need for emergency repairs on the Uzbek pipeline network.
