Uzbekistan is reported to have suspended gas deliveries to neighbouring Tajikistan.

The Russian Itar-Tass news agency reported the Tajik authorities as saying they'd been informed that the suspension was temporary and due to the need for emergency repairs on the Uzbek pipeline network.

Under an agreement between the two countries, Tajikistan pays for Uzbek gas by allowing rail shipments of Uzbek goods across its territory.
