Palestinian step to peace

The Palestinians have taken the next step towards carrying out the latest land-for-peace agreement, with the announcement that the Palestinian Central Council will meet next Thursday to confirm a pledge that the Palestinians no longer seek Israel's destruction.

The Central Council consists of senior officials and legislators and will prepare for a meeting in Gaza City of the full Palestinian National Council, which will be attended by President Clinton on December the fourteenth.
