Police are trying to trace a teenage prisoner who escaped from police custody while being treated in hospital.

Michael Connors, 19, is serving an 18-month sentence for burglary.

He absconded during treatment at Walsgrave Hospital, in Coventry, on Thursday morning.

The teenager is said not to be a danger to the public.

He had been detained at Onley Young Offenders Institution, near Rugby, Warwickshire.

The burglar is described as white with dark hair and was wearing a light blue top and jeans.
