The Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has appointed a new foreign minister, Ural Latypov, and given him wider responsibilities.

Mr Latypov who replaces Ivan Antanovich, who was sacked will also take charge of external economic relations and relations with the Commonwealth of Independent States.
