Exiles coast through

Scots proved their top-flight pedigree at the Athletic Ground

London Scottish 67-12 Blackheath

London Scottish cruised into the second stage of the Cheltenham and Gloucester Cup with an 11-try romp at Richmond's Athletic Ground.

Centre Rhodri Davies grabbed four touchdowns as fellow Londoners Blackheath slumped to defeat.

Even with a weakened side the Exiles were always quicker, stronger and more purposeful than Blackheath in every department.

Only the poor kicking of full-back Ian McAusland let them down.

Richard Smith (two), Barry Irving, Barry Pegna, Dai Manson-Bishop, Simon Holmes and Conan Sharman all crossed the line for the home side.

Ed Rayner and McAusland also went over in the second half but had their efforts disallowed for forward passes.

Blackheath claimed consolation tries from Phil Delaney in the first half and Maverick Anderson in the second.
