Pensioner dies in accident
Rush-hour traffic into Belfast was seriously disrupted
The accident happened on a main route into Belfast
A 78-year-old man has died in a road accident in south Belfast.

William Peacock from Annadale Avenue was walking on the Ormeau Road, at its junction with Knockbreda Park, when he was struck by a van at about 0715 BST on Thursday.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the accident to contact them.

In a separate incident, a 45-year-old old motorcyclist has died after a crash near Coleraine, County Londonderry.

The man's bike was in collision with a car at the junction of Cashel Road and Shinning Road, near Coleraine, at about 1735 BST on Wednesday.

The police have not yet released his name. Two men have been arrested.
