Biker jailed for dangerous driving
Court graphic
A salesman has been jailed for 18 months after riding his motorbike at more than 100mph while being pursued by Leicestershire police.

Lee Faulkner, of Deanside Drive, Loughborough, was also banned from driving for five years.

At Leicester Crown Court he admitted charges of dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and damaging a police motorbike.

The court heard the 24-year-old had reached speeds of 125mph along the A6 road between Loughborough and Leicester.

Simon Eckersley, prosecuting, said Faulkner was pursued by a police officer before he crashed into a fence and ran away.

"He reached speeds of 90mph in a 30mph zone with a primary school at the side of the road," he said.

"The police described him as being continually on the edge of losing control."

Mr Eckersley said the father-of-two was arrested after police sniffer dogs and a force helicopter were brought in to find him.
