A real and imminent threat?
In a HARDtalk interview on 25 September, Tim Sebastian spoke to Terence Taylor, executive director, International Institute for Strategic Studies in Washington and, in London, to Rear Admiral Richard Cobbold, director Royal United Services Institute.
The dossier setting out the British government's intelligence on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction has been published by Tony Blair and considered by the British Parliament. But does it contain enough persuasive evidence of a real and imminent threat? Terence Taylor is a former UN weapons inspector and Rear Admiral Richard Cobbold served in the last Gulf War as assistant chief of Britain's defence staff. Tim Sebastian asks them whether the United Nations would be convinced by the evidence and if it had brought the world closer to war. The interview can be watched in full on Wednesday 25 September on BBC World at the following times: BBC World (times shown in GMT) 0330, repeated 0830, 1130, 1530, 1830, 2330
