murder scene
The woman died of shotgun wounds
A 68-year-old Lincolnshire man has been charged with murdering his wife who was found shot in the county at the weekend.

Desmond Simcox will appear before magistrates at Skegness on Wednesday.

Mr Simcox from Admiralty Road in Mablethorpe is accused of murdering 48-year-old Shirley Simcox.

She was found fatally injured on a track off the A157 at Withern between Louth and Mabblethorpe just before midday on Sunday.

A home office pathologist performed a post mortem examination at Lincoln County Hospital.

He concluded that Mrs Simcox died from shotgun wounds.
