Arson attack on India bus
Police in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh say that at least 13 people were killed and more than 20 injured when a passenger set fire to a bus in the district of Mehboobnagar, around 200 kilometres from Hydrabad.

Officials say most people were asleep on the bus when one of the passengers threw kerosene or petrol onto the floor before setting it alight in the early hours of the morning.

The driver told reporters that a woman passenger had tried to prevent the man striking a match and screamed to stop the bus, but he said that flames quickly engulfed the vehicle.

Only three passengers escaped unhurt. Police say the motive for the attack is not clear.

They said they are not linking it to Tuesday's attack on a Hindu temple in Gujarat.

The arsonist was among those who died.
