Rapist 'may strike again'
Balmoral Road in Nottingham
The woman was attacked in the early hours of Sunday
Police in Nottingham fear a violent rapist may strike again.

The warning comes after a woman had her skull fractured during an assault over the weekend.

The 20-year-old woman was "hit with some sort of axe" and raped in Balmoral Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police have warned the man is extremely dangerous.

Detective Constable Mike Broddell said: "Obviously it is vital we catch this man.

"The seriousness of the assault... means that we need to do everything in our power to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else."

Officers say the woman was hit twice with some kind of axe, leaving her with skull fractures and deep cuts.

The man is thought to have run off in the direction of Arboretum Road.
