Taiwanese flags pulled at Asia Games

Officials in Thailand have removed Taiwanese national flags that were flying over venues at the Asian Games, after China complained.

A spokesman for the Thai foreign ministry said China protested after it spotted the flags flying over five of the venues.

Under an agreement with the Games organisers, Taiwan - regarded as a renegade province by China - is not allowed to fly its national flag or play its national anthem.
