Philippines gets World Bank cash
The World Bank has approved loans worth six-hundred-million dollars to the Phillipines to help it deal with the effects of the financial crisis in the region.
The money will be used to reform banking practices, and to help provide basic services in poor areas, in order to stimulate development.
