Hindu extremists in further film violence

For the second day running, Hindu extremists in India have targetted cinemas showing a controversial film centred on a lesbian relationship.

Members of the Shiv Sena organisation today attacked a cinema in Delhi -- yesterday they vandalised two cinemas in Bombay, where some movie-houses stopped screening the film.

Shiv Sena -- which is allied to the governing Hindu nationalist BJP -- says the film entitled 'Fire' is anti-Hindu, although it has been widely acclaimed by critics.

Police in Delhi say arrests have been made and they'll prevent further attacks.
