A court in Morocco has sentenced five men to jail terms of up to four years for organising illegal immigration to Spain.

They were convicted after a boat heading for Spain capsized; at least one person was killed and more than twenty others are feared drowned.

Nine defendants were acquitted.

The official Moroccan news agency said would-be immigrants had paid up to two-thousand dollars each for the trip.
