Battle over Angola general's body

A court in South Africa has resolved weeks of legal wrangling over the body of the former Angolan deputy chief of staff, Arlindo Cienda Pena, by ruling that his family can bury him.

General Pena died in a Pretoria hospital in October after contracting malaria.

The Angolan government wanted to bury him with full military honours in the capital, Luanda, and sent a delegation to fetch the body.

But the General's family wanted to bury him in his home town of Andulo.

General Pena used to command forces of the UNITA movement, but joined the Angolan army after the 1994 peace accords.
