The Dow Jones industrial average lost more than 100 points in early morning trading as Wall Street was dogged by another wave of profit-taking in the technology sector and more bad news from aerospace giant Boeing which is slashing more jobs.

At 0954 local time, the Dow was down 101.69 points at 9,031.85.
