Two Spanish lorries carrying five-hundred pigs have been held up by unknown attackers in Portugal, and tipped into a ravine.

The drivers were unharmed, but ten of the pigs were killed.

The incident follows sometimes violent protests by Portuguese pig farmers against cheap imports from Spain and other countries.
