Red Cross urges help for Vietnam storm victims

The international Red Cross and Red Crescent federation has appealed for emergency aid to help Vietnam deal with the devastation caused by the worst floods in the central coastal areas for thirty-four years.

Three severe storms struck the region in November, leaving nearly two-hundred-and-seventy people dead.

The Red Cross and Red Crescent federation estimates that nearly two-and-a-half million people have been directly affected by the disaster and wants to raise one-point-seven million dollars in cash, goods and services to assist them.
