Wednesday, December 2, 1998 Published at 13:41 GMT Sport: Rugby Union Record-chasing Boks stick with winners ![]() Dalton has recovered from a hamstring injury and should play South Africa have named an unchanged side for the historic showdown with England on Saturday.
And their cause has been boosted by experienced hooker James Dalton insisting he will be fit to start the match. Dalton is responding well to treatment after limping off with a hamstring injury during the victory against Ireland in Dublin last week. Coach Nick Mallett said: "Keeping an unchanged team is one of the big reasons for our success. "It took me quite a while to decide on changes following the victory over Wales but once I did it, I really wanted to give the team three Tests. "I will be guided by medical advice on James Dalton. At the moment, he looks like being fit, but if he is not 100% then he won't play." In addition to setting a new world record - which would surpass New Zealand's run of 17 victories between 1965-69 - South Africa are also aiming for their fifth Grand Slam tour of Britain and Ireland with victory over England.
