Question Time Defence Secretary George Robertson faces questions in the Commons.

Pagers The Commons Information Committee meets in secret to discuss plans to message MPs by pager, instead of traditional messengers

Water The Water Industry Bill has its second reading in the Commons. The Bill ends disconnection for non-payment of bills in homes, schools and hospitals and enables meters to be provided for free.

Commonwealth Lords have the second reading of the Commonwealth Development Corporation Bill which will convert the corporation into a public-private partnership.


Non-parliamentary

Aitken Judgement is expected from a stipendary magistrate who reserved judgement on 20 November over whether former Tory MP Jonathan Aitken and fellow defendant Said Ayas will face a jury trial on charges of perjury and perverting the course of justice.

Liberal Democrats The party's Federal Executive meets at Cowley Street, Westminster, and may discuss whether all members should be balloted on broader links with Labour.

Property Provisional date for a govvernment announcement changing the way houses are bought and sold in England and Wales and the knock-on effect on Scotland.

EU Environment ministers meet in Brussels.
