Tuesday, December 1, 1998 Published at 07:30 GMT World: Asia-Pacific Death toll rises in Indonesia earthquake Officials in Indonesia say they have recovered twenty-five bodies so far following an earthquake which struck the remote Island of Mangole, in the Moluccas, east of Sulawesi. Six people were initially known to have been killed but rescue workers have found more dead and reports are still coming in from isolated villages. Many people were injured and made homeless after the earthquake, measuring six-point-five on the Richter scale, struck and caused widespread damage.
