Pilots and company blamed for air crash in Greece

An inquiry into a fatal crash by a Ukrainian airliner in Greece last year has concluded that repeated pilot errors and an inadequately-prepared aircraft were the cause of the accident.

About seventy people died when the plane flew into a mountain range while approaching the northern Greek city of Salonika in December last year.

A report by the Greek Ministry of Transport said the company, Aerosweet Airlines, was negligent in supervising the plane's flight capability.

But it put most of the blame on the flight crew, who, it said, did not call for assistance after missing the airfield on their first approach.
