North Korea could host world cup games

The head of football's governing body, FIFA, Sepp Blatter, has said North Korea could host some of the games of the 2002 World Cup, which is due to be held in South Korea and Japan.

Speaking in the South Korean capital, Seoul, Mr Blatter said he was due to visit North Korea next autumn at the invitation of the government.

He said FIFA would not stand in the way if South Korea went ahead with its plan to offer some of the games to the North.
