Saudi and Iranian officials meet in Riyad


Saudi and Iranian officials have begun talks in the Saudi capital Riyad to prepare for the first meeting of the Saudi-Iranian Committee.

A Saudi Foreign Ministry official, said he hoped the Committee meeting, due in mid-December, would set an agenda for future contacts which would strengthen friendly relations between the two countries.

The head of the Iranian delegation, said relations were entering a historic phase.
