Kazakhstan's Central Electoral Commission has rejected complaints by a presidential candidate that electoral law has been breached in the run-up to presidential elections in January.

The complaints were made by the communist candidate, Serikbolsyn Abdildin, who alleged that in many areas his party workers were being prevented by the authorities from campaigning and obtaining signatures to support his candicacy.
