Texas convict evades capture

Hundreds of police in the American state of Texas are using helicopters, boats, dog teams and sophisticated infra-red heat sensors in their search for a convicted killer who escaped from jail two days ago.

The convict, Martin Gurule, who was awaiting execution, ignored bullets and climbed over a razor-wire fence to escape from a high security jail.

Six other prisoners made their getaway with him but were quickly re-captured.
