Sunday, November 29, 1998 Published at 00:36 GMT World: Africa Separatists claim killing of Angolan officers Reports say separatist guerillas in the northern Angolan enclave of Cabinda have claimed responsibility for the deaths of eleven Angolan army officers earlier this week. A communique from the guerilla group, the Cabinda Enclave Liberation Front, or FLEC, said the officers had been killed last Tuesday in the north of the oil-rich enclave. It added that FLEC had seized many weapons during the incident. Earlier this year, FLEC announced the resumption of its armed campaign for Cabinda's independence from Angola.
