Saturday's Scottish Premiership preview ![]() Gould is pushing for a return to the Celtic line-up Celtic v Motherwell Keeper Jonathan Gould is approaching full fitness after recent knee ligament damage, as third-placed Celtic look to make some ground on leaders Rangers, who are preoccupied by Sunday's League Cup final. If Gould fails to return, on-loan Tony Warner will deputise. Jackie McNamara is sidelined with a knee injury, while Craig Burley also misses out with a groin strain. One-time Celtic star Brian McClair will be pushing hard for a Motherwell recall against his former club after proving his fitness as a substitute for the last half-hour of last week's 0-0 draw at Kilmarnock. Aberdeen v Dundee Utd Nigel Pepper is set to make his debut for Aberdeen following his £300,000 midweek transfer from Bradford. Jamie Buchan also returns to the Dons team after being sidelined for a month because of an ankle problem. United manager Paul Sturrock will make a late decisions on the fitness of Icelandic international Siggi Jonsson (Achilles) and Frenchman Bernard Pascual (neck). But long-term injury casualty Iain Jenkins returns to the fold for the trip to Pittodrie. Dunfermline v Kilmarnock Dunfermline's Andy Tod suffered a knock during last week's 2-1 defeat at Hearts but is expected to be fit. However, Derek Ferguson (virus) and Scott Thomson are considered doubtful for the Pars. Killie forward Mark Roberts was forced off with a hamstring strain during last week's goalless draw with Motherwell and Alex Burke, who replaced him on the half-hour mark, could start in his place on Saturday. |
