The Greek Prime Minister, Kostas Simitis, is holding talks later today in Athens with the Cypriot President, Glafkos Klerides.
The meeting is expected to be dominated by the Cypriot government plan to deploy anti-aircraft missiles on the divided island -- a move which has angered the leaders of the self-declared Turkish-Cypriot state in the north.
Turkey has threatend military action if the missiles are deployed.
Mr Simitis has said that moves to demilitarise the divided island of Cyprus could help solve the missile dispute.
