An Afghan gang involved in killing political opponents

Police in in the Pakistani city of Quetta say they have uncovered a gang involved in attacks on prominent Afghan figures within and outside the country.

The Police told the BBC that the gang has links with a Taleban leader, who they named as Mullah Jalal, based in the city of Peshawar.

The police accused him of supervising such attacks.

The police have also arrested an Afghan national, Abdul Karim, who they say attacked a former Afghan commander, Haji Sarkatib on Wednesday.

He was seriously injured while one of his associates was killed.

The Pakistani officials say that the members of the same gang were involved on attacks on several former Afghan generals and political figures in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
