A study carried out in London has provided evidence that premature babies are likely to have lower intelligence if they don't get adequate nutrition.
Researchers observed a group of four hundred premature babies over eight years.
Half were given a specially designed baby milk, higher in protein and other nutrients than the normal baby milk given to the rest of the group.
The babies fed the special formula tested higher for intelligence and had especially good language skills.
Babies' brains double in size during the last three months in the womb.
