Dons snap up Pepper ![]() Nigel Pepper in action for Bradford against QPR Aberdeen manager Alex Miller has spent some of the money raised by the sale of Craig Hignett by paying Bradford City £300,000 for midfielder Nigel Pepper. The 30-year-old will go straight into the Dons squad for Saturday's home game against Dundee. "After losing Hignett it was vital to bring in a player who can play in a similar role. Nigel has a lot of attacking qualities and will get goals," said Miller. "He made it clear he was delighted to come to Aberdeen and I am sure the fans will like what they see." Pepper is expected to be the first of several new faces to arrive at Pittodrie following Hignett's £800,000 transfer to Barnsley. "I think of myself as a winner and will continue to give my all to Aberdeen," the Yorkshireman said. Hignett asked for a move so he could be nearer to his children and has agreed a two and a half year contract with Barnsley, who are managed by former Middlesbrough teammate John Hendrie. The Yorkshire club initially offered £500,000 plus winger Martin Bullock, but the latter refused to move to Scotland. Aberdeen's transfer-listed defender John Inglis has been linked with a £150,000 move to Dunfermline. |
