Rock star Gary Glitter has been committed for trial on a string of child
sex and pornography charges.
Glitter, who was charged under his real name Paul Gadd, is accused of making and possessing 50 indecent photographs of children.
The glam rock legend faces a further four charges of indecent assault involving a young girl,
and four other charges alleging serious sexual offences involving a girl.
The allegations date back as far as 1975.
Magistrates bailed him to stand trial at Bristol Crown Court, where a preliminary hearing will be held early next year.
Glitter, whose address was given as
York Street, London, was released on bail.
The singer was first arrested almost a year ago after taking a computer for
repair.
