North Korea and Washington to resume talks

The State Department in Washington has said talks will resume with North Korean officials early next month to address American concerns about building work at an underground site in North Korea.

Washington has demanded access to the site which it suspects could be being used to produce nuclear weapons.

But Pyongyang has denied the allegations, and accused Washington and South Korea of mounting a smear campaign against it.

The four days of talks will take place in New York and Washington.
