The leader of Doncaster council has been arrested by police investigating expenses irregularities at the authority.
Malcolm Glover was arrested this morning by officers from the special unit set up to look into the so-called Donnygate affair.
He was released without charge on police bail after being held for questioning.
The forty-seven-year-old councillor took over the leadership of the troubled authority just over a year ago.
There is now a possibility that he could be suspended by the regional Labour Party while the investigation continues.
