Dallaglio fit for comeback

Paul Grayson, Will Greenwood and Kyran Bracken sit out training

Lawrence Dallaglio has been passed fit to return to the England team for Saturday's game against Australia at Twickenham.

Alistair Hignell reports (BBC Radio 5 Live)
His recall is one of four changes made by coach Clive Woodward, and the Wasps star takes over as captain from Martin Johnson.

Dallaglio and Richard Hill come into the back row in place of Ben Clarke and Martin Corry and there is a third change in the pack with Tim Rodber preferred to Garath Archer at lock.

Rodber has 32 caps, but all of them in the back row, and he will find himself up against Aussie line-out jumper John Eales.

"The game is changing and I have made a bid to become a lock this season. I have never even been moved up because of an injury but I was inserted as a substitute twice and thought that I did reasonably well.

"It is my only position now after me and Northampton coach Ian McGeechan decided that it was best for me, club and maybe country," said Rodber.

Dan Luger loses his place on the wing despite scoring tries in his first two internationals against Holland and Italy, with the more experienced Tony Underwood making his first international appearance for 20 months.

The England team:

M Perry (Bath), T Underwood (Newcastle), W Greenwood (Leicester), J Guscott (Bath), A Healey (Leicester), P Grayson (Northampton), M Dawson (Northampton), J Leonard (Harlequins), R Cockerill (Leicester), D Garforth (Leicester), M Johnson (Leicester), T Rodber (Northampton), L Dallaglio (Wasps), R Hill (Saracens), N back (Leicester).

Replacements: N Beal (Northampton), M Catt (Bath), D Luger (Harlequins), M Corry (Leicester), D Grewcock (Saracens), G Rowntree (Leicester), P Greening (Gloucester).
