Chinese court postpones internet trial

A court in China has postponed the trial of the owner of a computer software company who has been charged with subversion.

The man, Lin Hai, has been in jail since April on charges of inciting the overthrow of the state.

He is accused of giving the e-mail addresses of about thirty-thousand Chinese computer users to an Internet magazine run by exiled Chinese dissidents.

No new date has been set for the trial.

Correspondents say the Chinese authorities have been trying to control the influence of the Internet, although it's not clear how much success they have had.
