Last Iranian prisoner freed in Afghanistan

Iran says its last national being held in Afghanistan by the Taleban has been released.

The Iranian news agency IRNA said Manuochehr Amiri, a lorry driver, was handed over to an Iranian Foreign Ministry representative in the western Afghan city of Herat.

The Taleban forces arrested several Iranian lorry drivers in Mazar-i-Sharif, after they captured the city in August.

Other Irannians had already been freed in batches in September and October, following the United Nations mediation.
