Should Abdullah Ocalan be extradited? Your reaction
What goes on in Turkey is its internal affairs, not for a bunch of ex-colonialist or would be colonialist. In Turkey, Turks and Kurds live side by side for thousand of years and are not going to tricked into age-old imperialist trick. Stop the demagoery and hand over that terrorist to Turkey. He killed most Kurds than anybody else.

Turkey must learn all anew how to play the game of democracy.
Abdullah Ocalan is the embodiment of the Kurdish question that has been postponed for too long. It is now that we must face this question and all the responsibilities its answers may entail.
The Kurdish people deserve to have their own country instead of being persecuted by the dictators of Turkey and Iraq.
Ocalan is not a terrorist, but a leader of a stateless nation. HE cannot, will not, and shall not be given to a regime where there is racism, and he should be granted political asylum in Europe. It is time for peace and Ocalan has offered peace to Turks many times, so who is terrorist? I think it is those who jail and punish innocent people and those that don't respect others rights and those who don't know how to share!

Ocalan and his organization, the PKK, have committed numerous terrorist activities that
claimed the lives of about 30,000 since 1984. No cause or intention can justify the violence they have committed. They should be tried for what they have done. Those who protect and encourage Ocalan and his organization are not doing any good to either the Kurdish people or humanity in general; and even worse, they are setting a terribly wrong precedence to extant and prospective terrorists by trying to legitimize terrorists.
He is a terrorist, and killed 30,000 innocent people for nothing. If anybody kills 100 Italian what would they do, I'm wondering.
As Turkey has failed miserably to treat its Kurdish population fairly, Oscalan had to resort to methods which may be repugnant to democracies.
Of course, everybody must be responsible from his/her actions. Turkey is now a wild country. and nobody can close their eyes about Ocalan's past events, that he killed many innocent women and kids.

Yes definetely. If he cannot be extradited, then must be tried in an international court. It is very difficult to understand, why some European countries are trying to back up a terrorist who is not only responsible for killing KURDISH PEOPLE in the eastern part of Turkey, but also doing illegal actions, such as organising drug smuggling. Italy should grant political asylum to Apo because he is the leader of a party which is fighting for the rights of the Kurdish people in Turkey. With his 10,000-15,000 soldiers (guerrilleros) he fights against one of the most powerful armies in the world and against the racist politics of the turkish state. I think he has to appear before an international court together with all Turkish presidents, premiers and generals of the last 15 years.
Abdullah Ocalan is a terrorist. Can't the world leaders get that into their thick heads? Terrorists should not have a say. He has MURDERED 30,000 innocent people. What kind of a world is this if people are going to let him get away with it. I can't understand Italy at all. Why are they so interested in protecting him?
Abdullah Öcalan shouldn't be extradited. There are many reasons for that.
1)It is very difficult to judge Öcalan and the fight of the Kurdish people without taking a view into the history of the Kurds. The fight for independence is many centuries old. Since 1984 there is the PKK and Öcalan, in the past there were other freedom fighters and always a people who wish to preserve their culture, language and identity.
2)Kurds aren't terrorists. They wage war on Turkey as Turkey itself started a dirty war against them. Terrorist means to frighten somebody. Who frightens who now? Whose villages were bombed by turkish army?
3)Öcalan never had the possibility to gain attention of an international audience. By granting asylum to Öcalan Italy could give a voice to the kurdish people.
Italy is showing its deep appreciation of democracy. I hope it will not give up in the face of fascistic propaganda from Turkey.
I think if his actions were against an other European country such as France, Spain or England we would not even be arguing about this. I think Turkey is never treated fairly in Europe.

I am a kurd myself but I don't believe in Ocalan and as a matter of fact Ocalan only represents two percent of the kurdish population. We are happy living in Turkey. Ocalan's struggle is not for the Kurdish people but it is to make money out of it for himself; he says he is a communist but I don't see the communism in living in luxirous villas bought by drug money! The PKK is a criminal organisation hidden behind the mask of being freedom fighters, do not be fooled by them.

Abdullah Ocalan is a freedom fighter. He lives in an area which has been occupied by Turkey for the last 70 years, not counting the occupation of the Ottoman Turks who occupied a much larger area in the Middle East. Turkey has suppressed Kurdish language, customs, and local self rule. It has an army of occupation on Kurdish soil. The Turkish army is one of the most brutal armies in the world, second to the Israelis. Abdullah Ocalan's ideas are a threat to the Turkish Army and its iron grip on the Kurds. The Italin government should give him asylum from harm in Turkey.
Abdullah Ocalan cannot represent Kurds - during last five months 38'000 Kurds immigrated to Italy but 3,000 of them supported Ocalan and most of them came from other European countries such as Germany, France and Switzerland. And also he has no meaning for Iranian and Iraq Kurds, and seperatist party of Turkey got just 3.5% of total votes but the percentage of Kurds about 20% in Turkey. No-one can claim that Ocalan is the leader and representative of Kurds. He is not a freedom fighter. He is just a murderer.
A terrorist that has personally ordered the execution of young children and women in south-eastern Turkey. This individual is a cold blooded murderer who has recently taken to hiding behind a so called idea of seperatism. There is no doubt he is a terrorist and should be tried for his crimes against humanity.
Ocalan is a national hero for the kurdish people. He has been fighting for the national rights of his people and against the barbaric and genocidal and systematic operations of the turkish security apparatus. An ancient kurdish saying says: If a man whose eye has been taken out comes to you; don't judge the other, because the other man may have lost both his eyes.
Turkey, like Iran, Iraq and Syria with their means of propaganda have always shown kurds and their leaders as scape goats. They have accused the kurds with all sorts of bad deeds to cover their own assimiliatory practices against the Kurds.
Imagine there is a country, army evacuates, crashes more than 3000 villages and towns, 12 million people have no right to use their native language, have no right to give a name which they want to their kids, the names of towns are systematically renamed, thousands of writers, journalists are in prison, approximately 4,000 people disappeared in jail, army can kill 12-14 years old kids for no reason, their families have no right to open court, elected congressman/woman can be put in prison, torture is basic element of jailing as well as rape for women, walking in the streets after 3.30 pm is prohibited in some cities, having a phone or computer should be approved by army, army is deciding how much you can eat, they have right to take your food if they think it is more than enough for you¿. All the kids have to say everyday "I am happy because I am Turkish" and "One Turk worth the world".. Most of the political party leaders have relation with gang and drug Mafia. Legal system does !
Terrorism should be defined clearly. How can one define some drug-dealers, child killers and rapists as a national heroes? Killer is killer regardless the wearing uniforms and title. If there is a court, which is going to judge terrorism, should judge Turkish government too. Poor Kurdish people need to hear voice of justice from the World. After that mothera will tell to their kids: "Still there is a hope for us, do not kill yourself!"
It's really irritating that a person who killed babes, drug smuggling and killer of 30000 human beings, wants to be protected by the Italian Goverment. All my country were very upset. He must be extradited to Turkey to be judged. But unfortunately its stopped by the people who give sympathy to terrorism.

The crime he has committed is against humanity. He is not only a mass murderer and one of the most violent terrorists responsible for the murder of some 30.000 people including women, children, teachers, and unarmed men but also a kidnapper (pls. refer to various Swedish Newspapers such as Dagens Nyheter dated 06 August 1998 to see the fact that PKK kidnaps children to train them for guerrilla groups) and a drug dealer (pls. refer to "Two Typical Degenerate Guerrilla Groups: Tigers of Tamil and PKK" by J C Salamon, F Haut, J L Vannier, Paris Criminology Institute, June 1996.) It is also significant that people he has ordered to kill mostly are of Kurdish origin.
No matter whether he is going to be extradited or not, he has to pay the penalty for what he has done for the last 14 years against humanity. The justice should be served on behalf of humanity through the independent courts of Turkey or another European country, if not an international court. Since it is a crime against humanity it is international communities' responsibility to seek justice.
The answer to the question if Mr Öcalan should be extrated to Turkey is of course NO. The Kurds are the largest stateless nation in the world. Mr Öcalan is the freedom fighter who says stop to the extermination of Kurds by the Tturkish government. If somebody has to be prosecuted for crimes against humanity it's in fact the Turkish state who has not only attempted to exterminate the Kurds but also the Armenians, Asyrians and other people.

Apo is a terrorist who is responsible for the death of 37.000 people and the drug trafficing in Europe. Not to extradite this murderer to Turkey would be such disrespect to those who lost their lives because of this terrorist and a loyal NATO member Turkey .
First of all, this man is not the 'Kurdish leader' but only a headman of a terrorist organisa-

Italy, it was a bad decision to free a criminal terrorist.
Every criminal must be tried, in this case, Abdullah Ocalan, the head terrorist, wanted for murder, must be extradited to Turkey where he committed most crimes against innocent people. By freeing him in Italy, Italian government is making a partnership with crime. Maybe we should send all the criminals of this world to Italy for a safe haven.
Ocalan is wanted as a criminal terrorist in Turkey, and in Germany. They caught him based on request from Germany but not from Turkey. They don't care the requests of Turkey apparently. Turkish republic is a democratic and a unitary state where all citizens enjoy equal rights without discrimination.
Within the last fifteen years, attempts have been made to divide this indivisible unity. Thousands of citizens including innocent children and women have been barbarously murdered and national resources have been destroyed by a group of terrorists murderers led by OCALAN who have also poisoned the world's youth by illegal drug trades that has long been the main source of finance for their heinous terrorist acts.
We demand that the leader of this group of terrorist murderers be brought to justice and pay for his crimes . We also strongly condemn those members of the Italian Govenrment and Parliament who, through their acts and statements, appear to block justice and even protect those terrorist murderers and their leader; and we invite them to learn about the real face of these terrorists. We would also like to remind them that those innocent citizens, some 30.000 , who were martyred by these terrorists , had their human rights and right to live. We should all be arguing for and defending their rights; and we perceive those apologetic and protective acts and statements as being rather irresponsible if not supportive of and possibly encouraging for further terrorist acts.
I invite the Italian Government to wake up and see the disrepute they brought their country into because soon the Italian citizens will find themselves no different from the citizens of those countries branded for blatantly supporting terrorism such as Syria and Libya .

I think Mr OCALAN is a great freedom fighter. Instead of his extradition, he needs to be thanked by by everybody espacially by the Turks. Every-one knows that Turkey is a non-Democratic state. Remember its human rights records. Remember what happened to Armenians, Greeks, Assyrians. They have been genocided. Remember Cyprus, it is still under Turkish invasion. If Mr OCALAN is a terrorist, then why the are the Kurdish language and culture banned. There are about 20 -25 million Kurds in Turkey, 1/3 of the population. What rights do they have?
Turkey claims that Mr OCALAN is a terrorist. I ask the Turkish state, Why did it burn down my entire willage. PKK didn't do it. The Turkish state forces did. My village is not the only one, so far around 4 thousand villages have been burnt down in the same way.
Yes, we Kurds want justice, not revenge. Every human being has to hear us.
Why do we listen only to theTurkish side, I think we have to listen to the Kurdish side as well. I urge everybody to understand that Turkey is not a democratic state and oppresses the Kurds; bans their language and culture as well as their identity, even their existence.
For those who do not achieve the full interpretation of P.K.K's crimes, I would like to present some statistics. Up to now, P.K.K has murdered 30,000 people, 550 of them which were babies. They murdered women, pregnant women included, and men indiscriminately. It did not matter if they were Kurds or Turks! I believe that it's insane to say that this bloody murderer is a political human rights fighter. A person who is responsible for murdering the civilians cannot be considered human. When you regard P.K.K, it is not a political party, it's a terrorist organization that has taken the lives of innocent civilians. Not extraditing him would give all other terrorists the image of supporting terrorism and that would bring about unfortunate and terrible causes.
For those who claim to be human rights fighters, supporting Abdullah Ocalan means contributing in the deaths of those innocent people!
He is the most disgusting terrorist in the world as he kills not only the ordinary men but also the infants. All European countries should support Turkey's attitude on this issue against the PKK and try to convince Italy that she must give him back.

I believe that a political solution to the Kurdish question has to be found and that the violence on both sides needs to be stopped. But terrorism has be fought, no political group should be allowed to use violence to further
their aims. The PKK's violence has killed the liberal voice that wants to find a political solution in Turkey. Elements in the Turkish Government have used it as an excuse to arrest all political critics. For Turkish and
Kurdish people to have a better future, this war has to be stopped. Why can the EU not organise itself over this issue in the same why that America is organising a solution to the Isreal -Palestinian conflict? Turkey needs to
be encouraged if it is to become a part of the European Union and it needs to solve this problem, a military solution will never be the answer.
Although Turkey has the death penalty, it has not been put in function for the last 15 years.
In this regard, I think it will be plausible to extradicate Ocalan to the country where he was the leader of the PKK terrorist group.
I find it most interesting that Ocalan targets teachers in the South Eastern Turkey. As for the 1997 a total of 138 teachers were murdered by PKK in this region. If this is not a terrorist organization, why would it want to kill teachers? The answer is simple, to create chaos.
If Mr Ocalan was for the well being of Kurdish people why would he kill them when they refuse to take part in his army, or when they decide to leave and go back to a normal life.
So yes, Mr. Ocalan is a criminal and he should be treated like any other criminal and go through the normal legal procedure in the countries where he has commited crimes.

It is funny that a person who fights for Kurdish
rights does not even speak Kurdish! It is about
time that the world understands Ocanlan is not a hero. He indeed is a terrorist. Turkey has gone to extreme measures to send its doctors, teachers, engineers to Southeastern part of
TURKEY. Ocalan keeps killing them, he keeps killing his Kurdish people, blowing up investments. People who suggest that Turkey is evil: Without witnessing the blood of the last fifteen years, only believing what you read in the news does not qualify to be a judge of
Turkey's evilness.
I think that Abdullah Ocalan should be
extradited, since he has the status of
a terrorist, not only in Turkey. Secondly,
Italy is only affected because A. Ocalan
has asked for asylum. Thirdly, USA has
still the death penalty, too. I think
if USA asks Italy to extradite an American
terrorist, then Italy would not even hesitate a second, I suppose. These are the reasons, why I back Turkey's position.

If the Turkish state had granted the Kurds their rights, as promised more than 75 years ago, there wouldn't have been a PKK. There is not one Kurdish school in Turkey, no broadcasting in the Kurdish language, oppression in the Kurdish regions remains and the Turkish army commits terrorism on daily basis.

Since Ocalan's arrest, already hundreds of PKK supporters have entered Italy on the grounds of 'political asylum'. Soon Turkey's Kurdish problem will be solved, since they will be demanding a homeland in Italy instead.
Turkey has long been viewed by Europe as an 'evil empire'. It's about time we realised the strengths and potential of this great country and respected their laws and culture.
He claims there are 20 million Kurds in Turkey and he represents them. If 20 million Kurds had supported him he could have been the president of a Kurdish state. He is just a crook and murderous villain nothing else.
I believe Mr Ocalan is not different from all the other military leaders who were forced to take arms. He is a man who is fighting for his people and their land. Don't we call those kind of people fredom fighters?
And the idea of Turkey accusing him being terrorist is pathetic. The Turkish army force are the ones who terrorise, kill and maim thousands of innocent Kurdish civilians daily. And any Kurdish person who dare to voice his/her dislike of this injustice is labelled terrorist.
In my opinion, Abdullah Ocalan should be extradited and be declared as the most deadly terrorist in the world. I think this case is similar to Pinochet case, and must be judged in the same way.
Italy should behave like a country who learned its lessons from history, or behave like one.
Italy cannot protect a terrorist who is responsible from about 30,000 lives after his promise in terms of stopping his crimes.

Finally, I believe that anyone who kills or lead some others to kill people must be prosecuted wherever he/she lives in the world.
Mr Ocalan is fighting for justice.Thousands of Kurds are in jail, and many have been executed. Why Mr Ocalan be extradited to such a country where human rights are not accepted?
