Former Police official gives evidence against Anwar

A second former policeman has testified that the sacked deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, asked police to force retractions from two people who had levelled allegations of sexual crimes against him.

The official, Amir Junos was giving evidence for the prosecution at the trial of Mr Anwar.

The head of the police intelligence unit made a similar allegation in the opening stages of the trial.

Mr. Anwar has said the charges of corruption and sexual misconduct are part of a political conspiracy against him.
